June 15th "Pocket Full of Rocks" Somewhere in Marshland to Selenginsh
If anything ends this trip it is going to be a dog attack. I had one pursue me across the hwy today which is absolutely insane - and his two buddies who didn't cross the road ran along barking anyways! I've been carrying rocks in my pockets for a few days now, but today was the first time I actually got one out to have some defense. Interested to see what Mongolia brings as I've heard their dogs are fierce and even try to attach the wheels on jeeps. Biked 54kms again today and ended up going on another wild goose chase looking for a hotel in Selenginsk. Who knew the Russian hotel was going to be so elusive - with no sign to even let you know it is anything more than an apartment block. We did however find a seady bar in the woods surrounded by broken down rusting amusement park rides, which we will not be venturing out to later for a drink! After we found the hotel we began another laundry factory in the bathroom and had a wonderful shower after 4 long, hard days of riding! The temperature read 37C for the better part of the day and we are both starting to rock hilarious tans - mostly on our right sides where the sun beats down on us all day. Hopefully only 2 more days to Ulan Ude where we can restock and reasses.
