June 11th - "Rest Day" - Bajkal'sk

Slept for 14hrs!! We are both feeling better now after our glorious sleep and didn't venture out until after 6pm to buy provisions for the next 4 days or so.  Buying groceries is always a laborious affair as everything is behind glass cases and you must ask the shop attendant for each item - in our case in sign language.  Even the drinks in the fridge are under lock down only accessible after the attendant presses a security button! It gets to be a tad uncomfortable as the clerk will only serve us once we have started picking items (and we generally buy a lot of food when we chance upon a store) so people end up queing behing us waiting to buy a simple loaf of bread.  We still have another 310km ahead of us until the city of Ulan Ude so hopefully we can get a ton of sleep tonight an d rest up our muscles for the task that lays ahead
